EU Energy History

For a thorough understanding and an in-depth view on retail prices for energy in European countries, there is a great tool available from Europe’s Energy Portal, called ‘EU Energy History’. This tool reveals exactly how much is paid for Natural Gas and Electricity by consumers from the member states of the European Union.
All price data is in Euro currency, making it convenient to compare prices between countries. The data format is Microsoft Excel®, by default. Other digital formats are optional.

What makes this price data unique and sought after is the fact that Europe's Energy Portal takes a 'real-life' approach towards data collecting. While many researchers depend on energy agencies and utilities to provide the raw data input for their reports, Europe’s Energy Portal harnesses the strength of a vast community of real consumers, end-users, to feed its analysis.

Methodology

Europe’s Energy Portal works with a vast pool of domestic and industrial consumers who are respondents for the EnergyEdge1) data input and processing software. Between EnergyEdge and the reported price data there are analysts to check and ground the data. More on methodology.
Ordering Procedure

The 'Order Sum' changes dynamically as you vary your order scope.
The data sets contain monthly retail prices in Euro currency per kilowatt hour (€/kWh)

The ordering procedure is not automated, this is not an 'off-the-shelf' product. The latest intelligence is incorporated into every order. When the order is received, an invoice is sent to your e-mail address within eight business hours. Once payment is received, the dataset(s) are sent to your contact e-mail address. Contact us if you require price data for different consumption levels or wish to re-publish beyond the boundaries of your organization. Pre-2000yr data might be available for certain countries and consumption categories, please inquire for details.
